Product FAQ's Q: Will the LED bulbs change the flash rate? Q: Are the adapters DOT approved? Q: What kind of warranty do you have?
Q: Do I need to switch out any bulbs once the adapter is installed?
A: No. You can leave all of the bulbs stock.
Note: Before installing the Voodoo Combo Package, you must replace the DOT and deadlight bulbs with LED bulbs.
Before installing the Front and Rear Running Light Package, you must replace the deadlights and rear blinkers with LED bulbs.
Q: Will the flash rate of the blinkers change?
A: No. With all the stock bulbs in, the flash rate remains the same.
Q: Will the adapters work with LED bulbs?
A: Yes. All of the adapters work with LED bulbs.
A: Yes and No. If you swap the "deadlight" bulbs with LED’s, the flash rate will remain the same. If you swap out any of the DOT or rear blinker bulbs, the flash rate will double. You can install a universal flasher relay that will correct the flash rate. The universal relay works with any combination of LED and incandescent bulbs. Go to the "Products" page to purchase the relay.
Q: I want to remove the DOT blinkers but I don’t want the flash rate to increase. Is there a fix for that?
A: Yes. The best solution is to replace your stock flasher relay with a universal flasher relay (again, see the "Products" page to purchase). You could also increase the wattage of the remaining bulbs on the system (the rear blinkers) to account for the loss of draw from the removed DOT bulbs. Keep in mind, the DOT blinkers are there for a reason. Remove them at your own risk!
Q: Will the high and low beam still work with the adapters?
A: Absolutely. None of the adapters will change how the headlight functions.
Q: Do I need any special tools to install an adapter?
A: No. All you need is a phillips screwdriver (to remove the front cover) and a small pair of pliers (to clamp the wire tap onto the power wire when installing the Running Light or BOB Combo Adapter).
Q: Will the adapters work on the 06 Buddy since it does not have the hazard light switch?
A: Yes. All of the adapters work on every Buddy model from 2006 to current.
Q: Will activating the deadlights result in a dead battery?
A: Converting the deadlights to running lights does put additional strain on the charging system. Switching the stock incandescent bulbs to LED bulbs will greatly reduce the strain. To keep your battery healthy and fully charged, it is recommended that you use a battery tender between rides.
A: No. Because of varying state and local laws, none of the adapters are DOT approved. Therefor, they are intended for "off road" use only.
A: All of our products carry a 90 day warranty.
